Agents are allowed to obtain credit scores from carriers provided they are appointed with the carrier and have obtained their approval by completing any necessary paperwork. The cost to obtain the credit score is borne by the carrier, not the agent. Credit companies do not allow scoring on every single quote. Each company provides ITC with a list of preset rules that must be met in order for an agent to obtain a credit score. Each company sets their own scoring rules. No need to bridge or access the carrier’s site to obtain a customer’s credit score. Agents can either elect to have ITC TurboRater order credit scores automatically from the comparison screen or by just pressing CTRL-V, the credit grabber box will appear, allowing the agent to obtain a credit score only for that individual quote. The credit score is obtained directly from the carrier in ITC TurboRater, thus avoiding the need to access the carrier’s rating system to get an accurate quote.
