TurboRater Monthly Newsletter - October 2010
Who Can Edit Companies in Web Edition?
One of the great features in Web Edition is the ability for the agency owner to assign an
Access Level to each of their employees. The Access Level assigned will determine what abilities the employee has in TurboRater. For example, certain Access Levels can restrict what quotes can be viewed or edited, their ability to generate reports, their access to create or edit other users or locations, and so on.
In some cases, agency owners may not want to give their employees the freedom to change what companies are quoted in TurboRater. This newsletter will specifically address what, if any, restrictions are placed on each Access Level for editing, adding, or removing companies. Please note: if an employee is not able to edit a company, they are not able to edit the producer code, username or password, financing, or default pay plan information.
There are three Access Levels:
- Agency Admin - Full access to edit all company groups as well as individual companies within each company group. What are Company Groups?
- Location Admin - Limited access only to the companies assigned to the location to which they are assigned.
- Standard Users – No access to companies.
Access Levels are assigned in the User’s profile. User Profiles can be found under the Administration menu.

How to Upgrade
Upgrading to Web Edition is easy.
» If you are currently an Online Quote Storage Subscriber
If you
currently subscribe to our Online Quote Storage, simply download
the
Quick Start Guide for Online Quote Storage Users and you can
start using all of the new features in Web Edition by the end of the
day. Note: You will have access to BOTH the Desktop
and Web Edition at the same time, no additional charge. So
if you have employees that may be disinclined to software
changes, that is ok. They can run the current Desktop Edition at
the same time other employees are using Web Edition and you can
share quotes between both. The only issue that may be
presented is if you do a quote with more than four cars or four
drivers in Web Edition, you will not be able to pull that quote
up in your current Desktop edition. Other than that, the two
versions work great together.
» If you store your own quotes
In order to utilize the browser-based technology available with
the new Web Edition, a subscription to online quote storage will
be required. The benefits of using online quote storage
far outweigh the minimal cost for the subscription.
